It’s May 1st (Happy Beltane!), it’s a Monday, and it seems like a good time to officially start something I’ve been thinking of doing for a little while: aligning my week to the chakras. Not in 7-step order (day 1 = chakra 1, etc.) but based on what I feel is their energetic correspondence.
If you try to look up which planet and which day of the week align with which chakra, you’ll get a bunch of different answers. Since this whole experiment is about aligning my energy with Universal energy, it makes sense to tap into what they feel like for me, personally.
I took a little time recently to dive into this and here’s what I came up with. These correspondences make sense to me and just feel correct… I might tweak them, but for now, they make sense.
Monday will be Third Eye Chakra Day. Monday means moon day (it’s also Lundi in French, aka lunar day). The moon’s energy is all about intuition. The Third Eye chakra is all about intuition. Feels right to me. Plus, I naturally like to start the week by tapping into my intuition and planning what I should be focusing on for the coming days. And Monday is the day we send out our weekly Lunar Insights at Business by the Moon.
Tuesday is Mars’ Day. In French it’s Mardi. I’ll come back to this… Tuesday and Saturday were difficult to decide, as the Root chakra fits them both.
Wednesday is going to be my Throat Chakra Day, because Mercury rules Wednesday, and Mercury is all about communication, just like the Throat Chakra. Wed in French is Mecredi. Weird (or not) how this all falls into place.
Thursday is Jupiter’s Day – Jeudi in French, and ‘Thursday’ comes from Thor’s Day (Thor rules Jupiter). Jupiter is about expansion. So is the Crown chakra. So, Thursday is going to be my Crown Chakra Day.
Friday is Venus’ Day, which means love. The Heart Chakra seems an obvious match.
Saturday, Saturn’s Day. Saturday could be Root Chakra or Sacral Chakra. I’m undecided.
Sunday, the Sun’s Day. Sun = solar, so Sunday will be my Solar Plexus Chakra Day, which feels good as Solar Plexus is about self-power and making decisions. Good Sunday energy and activities to get ready for the work week.
So, that’s my plan. I feel solid on five of the days, but Tuesday/Mars and Saturday/Saturn are still a bit up in the air (haha, space joke). Mars is red so we could go that route (root?) but Saturn also has some Root Chakra energy.
Right now I’m leaning towards Tuesday being Sacral Chakra, and Saturday being Root, but I’m holding off on committing until tomorrow when Tuesday’s energy arrives. Does it feel like a day for establishing foundations or getting creative? Watch this space… 🪐
